Heaven’s Receipt- Canvassing Story Part 2

One day, I was out walking, distributing the books we were selling. Along the way, I came across a woman who owned a small street-side shop. I approached her and offered the books I had. After I shared what they were about, she looked at me and said, “Actually, I’m really interested in one of these books. But I honestly don’t have any money right now. I just reopened my shop today after being closed for a long time, and it’s still early in the morning so haven’t made any sales yet.”

In that moment, I could tell she genuinely wanted the book. I sensed that she needed it. So, I made a decision: I would give it to her as a gift. To me, her hunger for the message was more important than the money. At first, she refused. She felt bad, knowing I was selling the books. But I gently reassured her, “It’s okay. I’m happy to give it to you.” I didn’t linger. I smiled and continued walking, praying quietly as I went, “Lord, please let this book be a blessing to her.”

Then something unexpected happened.

As I walked, I looked down and saw some folded money on the ground. The area was quiet, with no one in sight. I waited a little while; in case someone came looking for it. But no one did.  Eventually, I picked it up.  And to my amazement… the amount of money was exactly the same as the price of the book I had just given away.

It felt so personal, like God was saying,

“I saw your act of faith. I’ve already covered it.”

I was in awe. It may seem like a small thing, but to me, it was a sacred reminder:
God provides. Always.

That woman was thirsty for living water. She couldn’t afford it but God, in His mercy, redeemed it for her. God provided in a way I could never have expected. This experience comforted my heart deeply. It reminded me that God sees. He is the One who takes care of us, even in the smallest details.        I don’t know what happened next in that woman’s life. But I do pray that one day, she will come to know Jesus—or that someone else will, through the pages of that book.  And I’ll never forget the moment I learned:

"When we give in faith, God gives back in ways that only He can."

Proverbs 19:17 (NKJV)

“He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, And He will pay back what he has given.”

Blessings,
